Midway has heart

We’ve had the great pleasure of working with the USS Midway Museum since before the ship even arrived in the San Diego Harbor. One of our favorite campaigns for the museum is the “Heart with Gratitude,” celebrating a season of thanks to our military and civilian service men and women.

Planning an amazing event

ChampCohen was brought on board to concept and plan the museum’s new season, and to collaborate with the museum marketing team, Star 94.1, KUSI TV, and Southwest Airlines to coordinate, produce, and promote this truly special event. Nearly 1,000 San Diegans formed a giant heart on the museum’s enormous flight deck to display their gratitude to service men and women.
The community event served to promote the museum’s “Season of Thanks” campaign with advertising for events and occasions further honoring service men and women. For us, it was an honor to be involved with this event.

Midway Endless Summer

The USS Midway Museum has so much to offer, especially during the summer months. From history, to behind-the-scenes tours, to special events like the Steel Beach Beer Fest, Movies Under the Stars, and Children’s Overnight Adventures, there is an “Endless Summer” of activities on the USS Midway Museum.

Family summer destination

ChampCohen designed the comprehensive “Endless Summer“ campaign to promote the myriad of activities and family-friendly events on board the USS Midway Museum. We produced the campaign brand and promotions to broadcast across multiple media platforms, which included: photo and video shoots and post production, print and digital advertising campaigns, website graphics, eBlasts, social media advertising with animated ads and Instagram video stories, outdoor/transit advertising, and print collateral.

Midway Memories

A city at sea

The USS Midway Museum is a wonderful place to learn, to be inspired, and to experience great adventures. The ship was the longest-serving aircraft carrier in U.S. Navy history before it found a home as a museum in San Diego where it has become the living symbol of freedom it is today. To celebrate its history, ChampCohen worked with author Scott McGaugh to design “Midway Memories,” a hard-cover book illustrating the 47-year odyssey and unique insight into the floating city at sea.

Midway needs you for its overnight crew

The USS Midway Museum offers one of the best overnight adventures in Southern California. Participants are emerged in life on board a real aircraft carrier as they experience what it was like to be part of its crew. The program was started to inspire and educate youth groups only, and became so successful that the museum decided to open up the overnights to families. That’s when ChampCohen was brought in to create an all new brand that encompassed their Youth Group Program, Family Night Program, and their special Movie Nights Sleepovers. We designed the program’s brand and campaign to embody the fun, excitement, and educational value of this amazing overnight experience while appealing to their youth and family demographics.
