FROM THE DESK OF THE CHAMPCOHEN TEAM

Transitioning Our Success: The Torch Has Been Passed

FEBRUARY 27, 2018 |  THE CHAMPCOHEN TEAM

2017 marked several significant milestones for ChampCohen Design Associates. It kicked off last summer when John Champ announced he was retiring from the firm he founded over 36 years ago.

In 1981 John Champ left an agency position as art director to start his own company in a Del Mar beach shack office. He quickly earned a dedicated group of clients, helping many local startups grow into large organizations with global reach. Through employee transitions, company mergers, and rebrands, several of John’s early clients are still with us today.

In 1994, Randall Cohen came on board to help the firm stay aligned with the changing digital mediascape, and by 2000 they evolved the company into ChampCohen Design Associates.

It wasn’t long before a talented designer named Jo-Lin Govek joined the team, and several years later another excellent designer, Nicholas Kass, came on board. Now, Randy, Jo and Nick are pleased to announce their partnership and the next evolution of ChampCohen!

For over three decades ChampCohen has stayed on the leading edge of new technologies and media delivery, all the while we have continued to provide the same solid marketing services and outstanding customer support that John Champ brought to the industry when he first opened his doors.

With the help of our fantastic clients, ChampCohen stands out as one of the most vibrant and enduring design and advertising firms in San Diego. We still work from the same Del Mar beach shack where John Champ started in 1981 (now occupying a few offices), and John still drops by for a chat and coffee when we’re not too busy providing exceptional creative services to our clients. We look forward to new transitions as we evolve and improve the company in the future.
